Instruction

Jarett is a Michigan native and multi-instrumentalist residing in Denver, CO. He holds degrees in Movement Science and Athletic Training from the University of Michigan and a masters degree in Educational Administration from DePaul University. He studied guitar, mandolin, music theory and ear training at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, IL. As a founding member of the band Chain Station (Denver, CO), Jarett splits his time between teaching and touring.

Jarett has offered theory-based instruction on several instruments including mandolin, guitar, fiddle, and ukulele, to students of all ages, for nearly 20 years. Most recently on the Front Range of Colorado at Swallow Hill Music and for Jefferson County School District. He believes in building a strong technical foundation while using your favorite songs to deliver theoretical concepts that permeate and govern all music. His goal is to get students “away from the page” and connected to their instrument and the music, allowing them to join any jam, and play along with any song they hear.
