Since July 2025, I’ve been healing both mentally and physically from a series of traumatic injuries and events that have made it impossible to keep any sort of regular schedule; including touring, gigging, practicing and teaching.

I struggle most days… with different things, but mostly with myself. It’s not visible from the outside, but the pathways in my brain have changed. Familiar stimuli now produce unexpected responses. It’s confusing, and really scares me sometimes. I’m confident in the team of caregivers I’ve assembled, and we’re working together to ensure some happy and healthy days ahead.

It’s been a long, winding road of recovery, with many setbacks; but I’ve progressed to the point where I’m comfortable teaching in my home studio, and have returned to private instruction at Swallow Hill Music one day a week. I’m also back to hosting the TrashHawk Tavern Bluegrass Jam twice a month, and have been playing music with my brother Kyle in a band called Uncle Bill’s Stash.

Keep checking in here to see what I’ve got going on.
